Who We Are
Welcome to The Bee House, where students thrive in a nurturing environment dedicated to learning and growth. Our core values prioritize God, Family, and Country. We believe that parents play a pivotal role in their children's lives, and we are here to support them on their educational journey.
At The Bee House, community is paramount. We foster an environment where children and parents build meaningful connections, knowing each other's friends and coming together as a supportive family unit.
Faith is integral to our philosophy. While we are non-denominational, we embrace the belief that God loves us and guides us to fulfill His purpose. We cherish the Bible's teachings and affirm that we are all children of God.
Additionally, we instill a deep appreciation for our country. Recognizing its imperfections, we celebrate the greatness of our nation and impart this understanding to our students.
Join us at The Bee House, where faith, family, and community converge to create a nurturing environment for your child's development.

My two children have been attending The Bee School for almost 2 years. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the teachers and the curriculum. I have always felt like my children are loved, supported, encouraged, and guided every step of the way.
I feel like this community is the perfect fit for our family. My children receive a quality education while also accomplishing the social aspect that can be difficult to achieve when homeschooling.
The bonds they have formed with the teachers and students have been wonderful.
The children are not passively taught, instead they take part in monthly field trips, hands-on science experiments, and get to be part of their educational experience. My kids look forward to school every day. I highly recommend the Bee School!

Meet Your Teacher
Krissa Peterson, ME
Krissa is driven by her passion for teaching and helping children achieve their educational potential. Having spent years in traditional classrooms, she witnessed firsthand the challenges of overcrowding and the struggles faced by many children with learning disabilities such as ASD and ADD. Recognizing that traditional schooling doesn't suit every student, she wondered if there might be a better approach, especially for her own children.
When COVID-19 prompted her to homeschool her kids, like many other parents, Krissa quickly realized the difficulties her children faced without the structure and peer interaction of a traditional school. Despite her efforts to make learning enjoyable, homeschooling presented daily challenges, particularly with her children's learning difficulties, including ADD.
After a year marked by frustration and tears, Krissa discovered the One Room School model, which proved to be the solution she had been seeking. Inspired by this alternative approach, she embarked on establishing her own One Room School as part of the broader community. Three years later, the tears of struggle have given way to smiles and laughter.
Krissa thrives as a teacher in her One Room School, finding immense joy in nurturing her students' potential and fostering their love for learning. In this setting, every child receives the individualized attention they need, with Krissa dedicating special care to those with learning disabilities and other challenges.
Each day at her school brings new opportunities for learning and growth, where Krissa happily shares her values of faith, patriotism, and family with her students. Her journey to this point has been enriched by her academic background—a Bachelor's in English from Brigham Young University and a Master's in Education from Western Governors University. Her master's studies provided invaluable insights into supporting students with learning difficulties like dyslexia and ADD.
Prior to founding her own school, Krissa gained six years of teaching experience in the Richland and Pasco School Districts. This journey has shaped her into the dedicated educator she is today, committed to providing a supportive and enriching educational experience for every child at The Bee House.
She has taught in both the Richland and Pasco School Districts for 6 years prior to starting The Bee House.
